Linda Lamoine Barrett, age 70 of Big Sandy, TN, passed away on September 11, 2024 peacefully at her home surrounded by family. Linda was born on September 18, 1953 in Paris, TN to the late Jack and Mable Lamoine Barrett. Linda was known for her strong will and unwavering determination as well as her love and support for family, friends, customers, and community. Linda lived a life filled with many talents, passions, and sense of service to others.
Linda grew up on Lick Creek as a talented singer and musician with a passion for horses. She helped her father Jack with commercial fishing and she started diving for mussels at an early age. As an adult, Linda never went without a job because she was willing to learn anything. She spent time as a Real Estate Agent, Maintenance Technician, mussel diver, and metal worker before becoming a professional butcher and taxidermist. She started Barrett’s Wildgame Processing and Taxidermy in 1996. She loved her work and her
customers dearly. Linda was the pastor of Cornerstone Church in Henry County for many years.
Her hobbies included singing, playing the piano, and watching westerns. She loved spending time at the creek and driving her grandchildren, great nieces/nephews, and dogs around the farm. Linda will be remembered for all the heart she shared with family, friends, customers, and complete strangers. She always made time to help others. Ms. Barrett was preceded in death by her brothers Wayne Barrett and Robert Barrett. Ms. Barrett is survived by her two sons: Russell (Hayley) French of Big Sandy, TN and Randall (Brooke) French of Paris, TN. Five grandchildren: Riley French, Alley French, Reagan French, Annie Kate French, and River French. One aunt: Letta Goforth of Nashville.
